Real Quick

The thoughts and opinions stated in this blog are just that: thoughts and opinions. I do not expect everyone to see eye to eye, but I can promise this: everything here is honest based on my likes and dislikes.

Also, I am not a professional reviewer of books. This blog is merely a place where I can put my thoughts into words, better understanding my own musings.

Thank you.

Boom - now that's an engaging title

To be brutally honest (with myself), I cannot pretend that I am different from others of my generation. When I want something, I want it right then and there. If it takes too long to acquire, then surely it is not worth the wait.

Can we all agree that impatience colors our world today?

That is one reason why I love reading. Books have a way of teaching us of the lost art of patience. After putting in the time, we turn over the last page with (hopefully) a sense of satisfaction and some closure (unless there is implication of a sequel to come).

Patience is but one advantage of reading. If you have a passion for it, listing the other wonders it brings can be found as quite the challenge. It’s like naming all fifty States – you are bound to name a handful and then wind up stuck, knowing full-well there are more.

Reading teaches me to hang in there, even when I am not immediately snagged by the book I am reading. Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre and Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice both stole my heart, even if it took me time to actually delve into the story. As I have come to learn, if you know the characters and grow to love them, reading is a breeze. After all, the author had to have loved the characters to some extent. How else could they have finished writing the story?

Therefore, with every book I read (and now review), my goal is to see as the author saw. As an aspiring author myself, I will attempt to empathize and try to understand their line of thought concerning their characters.

Bear in mind, I pray, that I am NOT the author of these books I read. My doodles in this blog are mere opinions and assumptions. And you know what they say about one led to assUme…

Look out for a new review on the first Saturday of every month. I will be reviewing more current releases (gotta keep up with the times after all) and would love to hear what your opinion is on the matter, also.

Much love.
