The thoughts and opinions stated in this blog are just that: thoughts and opinions. I do not expect everyone to see eye to eye, but I can promise this: everything here is honest based on my likes and dislikes.

Kiss of the Royal

Kiss of the Royal

Author: Lindsey Duga

Published: July 3rd, 2018 by Entangled Publishing, LLC

Genre: YA Fantasy

Faced with the war against Forces of Darkness, Ivy and her other Royal comrades rely on their Kiss to aid them. It is only when she is partnered with a new prince that she begins to doubt the power of the Kiss.

On their quest to prevent the land from experiencing the wrath of a Sable Dragon, Ivy begins to see the world through the eyes of her new partner. She begins to believe in a force more powerful than her Royal Kiss. Yet she is torn between five hundred years’ worth of teachings and her stirring feelings for this prince.

Kiss of the Royal won me over from the start. When Ivy met her knew partner, I adored him right off the bat. Duga did an exceptional job bringing the characters to life. I felt like I was there, experiencing their emotions with them. I laughed, I cried (I got super teary-eyed at one point, okay? The last book that made me cry was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows), I chewed my nails with angst, and I giggled a few times… in public. Very embarrassing.

The story flowed so perfectly, the writing was enjoyable. The personal struggle of the protagonist was relatable, and I am all about the medieval settings and magic. This is a book I could easily read a second time.

I am terribly disappointed, however. Why, oh why did I buy this on my kindle??? This is the type of book I want on my bookshelf! I’m a dork for hard-copies, and this book would sit so well next to my other favorites.

All well, I guess.

If you are as interested as I am in fantasy genre novels, and you like stories laced with romance, don’t add this to your TBR. Add it to your shopping cart.

Five stars, and a thank you to Lindsey Duga for the wonderful journey.
